Gourd progress!
After a week of heavy rain the gourds in the raised tanks are taking off. The rest were planted recently and have just started to germinate!
A look inside a birdhouse!
The baby swallows are in the lower right of the picture. This is looking into the gourd opening!
Second generation starting
Each year the birds raise two batches of babies. They have been feeding babies recently but now are staking out new houses. The ten to move homes for the second batch. They are busy! There are two swallows in the picture. One is hard to see on the bracket. They are currently feeding babies in the yellow house. The wren are busy with babies too!
Squirrel!
Heart nuts!
The heart nut trees are finally producing after 10 years! They are a Japanese walnut similar to a butternut.
